I've decided to start a little movie review corner on DevArt.
Since I'm a huge movie buff and I see at least 5 movies a week I thought i'd share some tiny movie reviews with you as I see them. I hope you get something out of it.

Shluh's Movie Corner

Legionnaire

As some of you may or may not know.. I'm a die hard fan of 80's movies, especially the B action flicks!
Legionnaire stars one of those idols of that era (next to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren,...), and that man is JC. Van Damme.
This movie is set in the late 20ties and Van Damme plays Alain Lefevre (see plotline). Don't expect Van Damme to start dealing out mega punches and roundhouse kicks to the bad guys. In this movie he plays a boxer and mainly fights with his hands and rifles, so it's not an martial arts movie.
It does tell about the foreign French legion that not many of you may know.
So if you like Van Damme then of course this is a must see!

Plotline: Alain Lefevre is a boxer paid by a Marseille mobster to take a dive. When he wins the fight he attempts to flee to America with the mobster's girlfriend Katrina. This plan fails and he seeks escape by joining the foreign legion.

My rating: 6.5/10



Felon

A pretty unknown movie I saw yesterday titled Felon (with Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff) really got to me and i was dragged into the story. Good acting, nice story, nice cast. It's not just another prison movie (although I like all kinds of movies related to prison), it goes deeper than that. I wouldn't dare compare it to the shawshank redemption which, in my opinion, is still the number one of prison films but a must see nevertheless.

Plotline: A family man convicted of killing an intruder must cope with life afterward in the violent penal system.

My Rating : 7/10



Wanted

This movie stars Angelina jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. The action is superb, especially for those that like fast frame action flicks. The story stays simple but interesting and it has a nice plot twist.

Plotline: A frustrated office worker learns that he is the son of a professional assassin, and that he shares his father's superhuman killing abilities.
